Without You 02:26

about

Issued in early 2013 and recorded in 2 days at First Avenue Studio, Newcastle (where the Wimps had cut the 'Bus-Route...' album way back when), this LP was a decision to strip the band back to a live sound: only 2 tracks have any instrumental overdubs, all the rest are one guitar, bass and drums played live in real time in the studio. Jake Thackray's 'Lah-Di-Dah' and Lex Cox Sportif's 'Omnia Mea Mecum Porto' (it means 'everything I own goes where I go') get the cover version treatment. Sophie Evans (only 18 at the time, later a member of Glasgow's Life Model) does a guest vocal on 'Without You'. Billy Childish is nodded towards so hard that it's practically a headbutt, on 'Worthless Person'. Overall self-assessment: it was fun to make and some folks seems to really likes it! Thanks to John Egdell for his tremendous input to this LP (e.g. mixing down the recordings but also suggesting various little things and of course banging them drums).
